Fair Play Music - The definitive source for unsigned bands and musicians in the UK.

So many acts throughout the UK remain under the radar of the music industry and are never heard nationally. I personally know how hard it is trying to promote yourself as an act on a shoe string budget, creating CD sales and promoting gigs etc.

Returning from a gig miles from home in the back of a van, surrounded by flight cases and stage gear, tired and exhausted, wondering where you go from here. Sign to the first major label that chooses to give you the time of day? Keep on touring? Chuck it in and get a ‘real’ job?

The Fair Play Music web site was officially launched on 1st May 2002 to be the definitive source for unsigned musicians, aimed at both unsigned acts looking to promote themselves and the user searching for new sounds in their area and UK wide.

The work started in the summer of 2000, with just an idea. What you see on this site is the direct result of months of hard work and research by the Fair Play Music team. It is thanks to this dedicated team that my idea has become reality. I would like to thank Kevin Hardy, Martin Preikschas, Clive Burling, Paul Northup and anyone else that is involved in this great project.
